What Will Be In The Barnyard Estates?

Behind the scenes the Promote Pulaski has been working hard on The Barnyard Estates. We now have a plan that we can share with potential businesses, sponsors and donors. It's the visual that we knew was the key to starting the capital campaign. It's a big project, and we are finalizing the numbers so we know what our end goal is.

Honestly, we are all very new to this, but we are all very passionate. This week we reserved some great advice from a fundraising "expert", well, maybe not expert, but someone that has experience with fundraising. Our next steps include setting some very specific goals, and we'll be appointing a spokesperson, and possibly having a few other join our steering committee to ensure we get the project completed.  We do know that it is going to take a lot of work, but it will be worth it. If you are interested in joining us, please feel free to reach out to Tammy at 920-822-4450, Bruce 920-621-6899 or email us at PromotePulaski@gmail.com.

Creating the Vision, What Makes Pulaski, Wisconsin Special?

Creating “The Vision” is our next step in the Barnyard Estates Journey. The mission of the non-profit organization, Promote Pulaski efforts are focused on promoting economic growth in and around Pulaski, Wisconsin. As a group, we believe the need for an anchor business within the barn, will be necessary to help the community concept of having businesses and community “under one roof” be sustainable and to thrive. The question is, what will that anchor business be?

History plays an important factor in communities and their success. For example, a Wisconsin town that you might be familiar with according to “15 Best Small Towns to Visit in Wisconsin,” (The Crazy Tourist, 2020) Cedarburg, near Milwaukee makes it history well known to out-of-towners. The town was originally founded in 1842 by Ludwig Groth along the banks of Cedar Creek. The name means “Castel of Cedars”. The Columbia Mill, a lumbermill was built, and the town expanded and thrived. Today, the old wool mill was purchased and converted into a restaurant, winery and shops that attracts tourist from all over the world.

Another hidden Wisconsin gem is found in Southwest Wisconsin, New Glarus, a charming Swiss culture brought there by the first settlers. It’s named after the canton of Glarus in Swtizerland. It’s one of the best known Swiss settlements in the nation. Famous for it’s New Glarus Brewing Company, tourist come to enjoy the festivals that commemorate their Swiss German heritage customs and culture throughout the year.

Longtime residents, and tourists might agree that Pulaski, Wisconsin, built on agriculture and the “family farm” concept, is well known for it’s Polish heritage, specifically the Polish music and food. Events such as Pulaski Polka Days and Casimir Pulaski Days have helped put Pulaski on the map. However, a business directly relates to our Polish heritage is non-existent in Pulaski, Wisconsin. With that in mind, the Board believes that by bringing to the table, a Polish Restaurant, we would reinforce and keep alive the Polish culture and traditions that make Pulaski who we are. Having an authentic, Polish cuisine restaurant in the barn, we believe is essential to the success of The Barnyard Estates.

We have begun our quest for finding a special partner, someone with strong a Polish heritage and experience in a Polish restaurant or cuisine who might be interested in starting or expanding their Polish roots in our community. Do you know someone who might be interested in a chance to pursue their dream? In the next few weeks, we will be reaching out and looking for connections. Our calendar is even slated for touring Polish restaurants and businesses to find the perfect associate to provide this to Pulaski.

We need your help too. Remember, we can't build a community concept without our community, The board of directors is asking for your help to connect us to the right people, Let’s build The Barnyard Estates together. Share this blog post, the website and our facebook page as we continue our journey. Interested in helping the organization? Fill out this contact form and let us know how you would like to help.

Next up. What type recreational facility will be housed in the Barnyard Estates? Who are we specifically targeting and why?

The Barnyard Banner Goes Up During Polka Day Weekend 2021

We thought it would be most appropriate to get the banner put up on the land that the Barnyard Estates will be built. We are planting the seed you could say. My Dad who is on the Board helped with the stakes for the banner, and my husband, Bruce and son Zach helped tie the banner.

Slowly, but surely it's happening, and yes already getting resistance from some, but excitement from others. The resistance that we met the past couple of weeks, was "the land isn't big enough for what you want." All that I can say about this is, we are going to make the best of what we have. You don't have to big the Biggest Entity around to be the Best. The concept of the Barnyard Estates is that its about supporting the little guys, the backbone of this economy. Our ancestors, who came here for a better life, started farming in Pulaski, Wisconsin and that is what we want people to remember. The Barnyard Estates will be about the history of farms in the area, our rich Polish heritage, our strong work ethic and more. It's about living the dream, and building a life that is successful. It will also be about community and supporting one another.

All that I can say is that I've had too many signs along the way to stop now. God has a hand in the project and has put certain people in charge of it. We know that this is the perfect spot for the Barnyard Estates. We are super excited to continue this journey, and know that it won't be easy. Check out the website for more updates and information. We need help. We need you. We need everyone that wants to be a part of something special. Join us today.

How Can You Help Build The Barnyard Estates Right Now? It Begins With Planting Seeds.

Many of you have asked, how can I help right now. We'll there are many ways in which you can help build The Barnyard Estates. We're in the planting season right now. Here is how you can help.

We need your help financially, support for securing the lot in Pulaski is our number one priority. The lot which is located right off of Glenbrook Drive, near the Village of Pulaski office building is where it will all begin. Help us secure the land by the end of 2021. That will be a big step for us, so we are looking for donations, big and small because we know that it will take all kinds. Remember, this is a community project, and will be built by the people, businesses and community organizations. Why? Because it will be utilized by everyone, locals and tourists and sustainable for years to come.

Thank you already to these companies: Custom Kreations, Trout Creek Veterinary Center, Dynamic Designs that have jumped on the band wagon with a few anonymous donators as well. These are our leaders! Any donations can easily be mailed to Promote Pulaski, Inc., 702 Carol Lane, Pulaski, WI 54152, or you can make an online donation through the website, www.thebarnyardestates.com. If you can't contribute in a big way, consider using Amazon Smile when you order online. Just by going to this link and clicking on Promote Pulaski, and then ordering from Amazon, you will in essence be supporting our organization. A percentage of your order will be given to Promote Pulaski.

This month we will get our new board members together to work on providing you an phsyical drawing of the building and what it will look like, and what will be housed in the building. We want to be able to provide you a conceptual drawing so that you can see the dream as it unfolds. We know that some ideas will changes, but the main concept of providing a barn-like structure, which will feature business and community under one roof will not change. The agricultural background of how our ancestors built their dreams and goals starting with farming will not change - so the concept of the family farm will be carried forward in The Barnyard Estates. We are working with the Pulaski Area Historical Society to begin research on family farms that we will feature throughout the facility. If you have family farm that is a century old, we want to learn more about it. Contact us at promotepulaski@gmail.com if you'd like an opportunity to tell your story. The Barnyard Estates will be a historical and education resource center in addition to hosting local businesses, non-profits and the community. We believe we must never lose sight of where we came from.

Consider helping our 501c3 non-profit organization, Promote Pulaski, so that we can continue to build the dream, which in effect will be making many dreams come true, for individuals, families, business and organizations that want to thrive under one roof. We are excited about all of the possibilities of bringing a bowling/recreational facility, a bowling training center, a place to host an off-site business/team building center, a shared kitchen, cafe technology room, local businesses and more. This is just the start, but with your help the future is bright for The Barnyard Estates. Connect with us on our Facebook page, and our website www.thebarnyardestates.com so you stay abreast of what is happening.

Back to the Barnyard

This weekend, I've had a few people ask me, "When is the bowling alley going up?" and "what's happening with the barnyard estates?" We've planted the seed, and now it's time to sow. It's time to get back to the Barnyard. It's almost July 2021. We've had a lot of interest. We've started the capital campaign and created outlets for funding, and now it's time to get back on track and continue with our mission of creating a community under one roof that works together for the success of everyone, helping people build their dreams, and live the "good life".

The key word is community, and this week we will announce our newest Board of Director Members, and start working on funding for The Barnyard Estates. We'll even "go live" on Facebook on Friday, June 25th, of this week to talk about just one of the needs of the community, and how the Barnyard will help fill one particular need. We will also discuss ways that you as a community member can get involved in the project.

In the next few weeks, we invite you to watch for a banner that will go up on the lot on Glenbrook Drive where the Barnyard Estates will be built.

We are excited, and we know that we can't do this alone, that is why we are reaching out to you. We are building this barnyard together. We are building something that we can all be proud of. We are building something that we can all use. We are building not just a barnyard. We are building lives. We are building dreams. Right here. Right now, in Pulaski, Wisconsin. Join us on Friday, June 25th for our live strategy session.

The Dream

The Barnyard Estates was just a dream I had about seven years ago. The dream of erecting a building to look like a barn in a small community, Pulaski, Wisconsin. Not just a building though. In a sense, taking me back to the days of growing up on a farm, just west of Pulaski. A community is how I like to describe it. Neighbors helping neighbors live their dream, just like when with the farm. We all helped each other out, getting crops in. It was just something that we did. Working together, living together and having fun together. That is what the Barnyard Estates is all about.

As I take you along this journey with me, you'll get to understand what I mean as it all unfolds. I don't anticipate this dream being an easy one. I know there will be some ups and downs, but it's really happening, and I know it will only happen with community. In the end though, it will be something that we all built together and can most certainly be proud of. So carry on, watch for updates about the Barnyard Estates.
